I previously had a Deathadder 1800dpi mouse for a few years, and felt it was time for a upgrade. I was so used to the deathadder that I thought about getttng a mamba instead since its the same shell. I looked into the new 3500dpi deathadder as well, but wanted to go for the full 5600dpi…
Let me say that this mouse doesn’t dissapoint. The ergonomic feel is more precise than the deathadder, much better than the log*tech line of gamer mice. The on the fly dpi buttons behind the wheel are a nice upgrade from the deathadder. The cable is braided and feels much stronger than that of older razer mice. The main thing that I was worried about was the smaller side buttons and the slider thing… I use the side buttons for a lot of games and these, though smaller, are just as easy to get to as the deathadder’s side buttons. The slider is actually very useful for getting a more customized feel to the mouse. The sensor is very accurate, Though going full 5600dpi in windows for internet browsing, ect, is way to fast. I turn mine down to 2000dpi in for normal browsing and in games crank it up to 5600 in game. I play HL2DM and CSS and turned in game sens. down from 4.0 to 0.9 to get the same feel as the 1800dpi deathadder.
Overall this mouse is very good and I would definetly reccomend getting it if ur old deathadder needs to be retired like mine. 5/5 stars! Another great product from Razer!

bought this after my optical mouse finally bit the dust. very comfortable mouse to use for long hours of gaming or just browsing. mouse wheel rubberized grip is great for scrolling. well worth the price for a laser that wont die after 3 months (dont waste your money on logitech) best of the razer mice imo…

I have used Razer products for a while now, so when I decided it was time to upgrade from my Razer DeathAdder to this, I was not worried at all. This, along with the DeathAdder are right-handed ergonomic, which is the only kind of mouse I can use. It also feels similar to the Logitech G5. The Imperator is a bit small than the DeathAdder, which for most people is probably a good thing. I have big hands, but it doesn’t seem too small to become unconfortable. I moved the adjustable side buttons a couple of times, but at the back seemed best for me. Most of the 5600 DPI you will never touch under ordinary usage, but it is there if you are gamer who loves playing with small movements. The software is similar to all of the other programmable Razer mice, with macros and on-the-fly sensitivity, but nothing I haven’t seen before.
Overall, the Imperator feels great, runs smooth, and is perfect for those who prefer the form-fitting feel. I highly recommend this mouse for any PC gamer, and if you are on a smaller budget, I recommend you pick up a Death Adder.

I was always reading about razor products and i haven’t believed the quality until i tried it my self, i bought the Razer Imperator Mouse because it has the latest mouse technology and whats written about it is true, very accurate, and has an ergonomic design also easy to use and configure. I think i will never change to another brand for anything related to PC accessories (mouses and Keyboards)

5600 dpi doesn’t mean anything to a human-you just can’t react that fast. The mouse is a bit smaller than the deathadder, which makes it not as comfortable as deathadder. I think for gamers, the feeling of mice counts at first place. Although Deathadder doesn’t has such a high dpi or a laser sensor, it does provide solid and natural controls. The side buttons aren’t easy to find, not like the deathadder’s. I think razer is just marketing its products nowadays, they don’t make revolutionary improvements on their products anymore. they don’t really care about enhancing users’ experience. overall this is not a bad mouse, but i’d suggest new buyers save some buck and buy a deathadder or look into some microsoft, steelseries or logitech’s products. Not recommended after 2 months use.

this is probably one of the best gaming mouses i have ever used.
i would definitely recommend it to anyone who likes to game. the mouse feels very comfortable in my hand, and the side buttons slide back and forth to adjust to your comfort.
i did notice when on a high DPI that if you lift the mouse up the cursor goes to the bottom right.

Then don’t buy this mouse unless you plan on switching to the Vespula or other “recommended” pads immediately, because it won’t work properly with it. Mine randomly “chugs” and “chokes” with this mousepad, and when I emailed Razer’s support they said the exactmat is not recommended for this mouse. Perhaps my fault, but I bought it right as the Vespula came out and was totally unaware of any glaring issues such as these. Another annoying attribute of the mouse, is when you pick the thing up and place it back on the exactmat, the sensor will decide to stop functioning for several seconds. It will also do this on ANY surface if you gently run a q-tip past the lens or anything bright from what I can tell.
Yes, it also has the issue where if you lift it up the cursor jitters around, but that doesn’t affect me as I only lift it to clean it, so it’s totally unrelated the 3 stars. Overall, I think this was a waste of time and money as I’m moving back to my Deathadder 3.5 which unfortunately isn’t as comfortable as this mouse, but at least it functions properly and never cuts out randomly during a game just because it feels like it. Feel free to read the comments section to see the exact snippet from Razer.
Edit: Yes, please rank me down just due to being fanboys of a brand, it’s really helping other people find the possible faults of the product. But hey, it’s Amazon after all! I expect no less.

Just got ths mouse and LOVE IT…
1. First have to say its a great size and feel. i have big hands so finding the right mouse is key. it did… This mouse feels great and the construction of mouse was good.
2. The mouse for me worked great on the standard mouse pad and no mouse pad. i have seen some reviews about you have to have a razor mouse pad. it so far works great.
3. After you download software for mouse it does takes some tweaking.
4. Also this mouse is like 5600 dpi… this doesnt mean you can control it at that speed. I have found at that high of level the game moves to fast to control. i had to turn the DPI to less then half. BUT this was me.. so this mouse takes some tweaking and finding the right setting that fits for you.
But over all love it and it was a great buy.

I am WoW player and spend ~ 9-12 hours a day in game. I was looking for a mouse that not only felt good in my hands but more importantly be able to use it for hours. The imperator did a Very good job at not only making a great looking mouse but also make it easy on your hands. If you are like me and are moving from a low sensitivity to a high one, please give it 2-3 days. I suggest that you leave the mouse at around 3000DPI and runnin at 1000 Hz. Thats what I use and it works great. The software that comes with the mouse is very very nice and just the fact that you can have multiple profiles and change them right on the mouse is AWESOME. I do use the two buttons on the mouse that allow you to go up and down DPI. For example when I am working with images in Photoshop i sometimes like to turn it down when i want to be VERY exact about what im doing. Anyway…great mouse! If you like the design it wont disappoint on performance.

This wireless mouse gives you total control.
Contoured to fit your hand like a glove. The comfort factor is another plus in choosing this model. With your hand grip molded right in.
It is also very sensitive and offers you optimum precision.
The cost is well worth it as it’s performs excellently.
Highly recommended.
