I knew exactly what I was getting myself into when I purchased this game! As you may have read in other reviews it can be compared to Max Payne and Strangelhold. Especially the real bullet time. I’ll tell you up front this game is not for everyone! PS3 Marketplace and XBOX Live each have the demo available for download to try it out.
The story plays exactly like a Quentin Tarentino movie. It is very fast paced, lots of running shooting, sword swinging action. There’s the basic play, every few levels the main character (Rubi) goes into “rage” mode which turns the whole stage to blood red/white/black anime style which is fun. Other different things the game features are “time trial target practice modes” and a few scattered button pressing action sequence scenes. AKA It will tell you to press the “Triangle” at a certain moment and if you don’t you will get shot/stabbed/fall off a moving vehicle.
There’s no online multiplayer but this game is fun. Good music soundtrack, great action, controls take a little getting used to and certain things may feel a little repetitive to some but it’s at least worth the rent if the demo doesnt grab you from the go. I have noticed that most either love it or hate it! and **spoiler alert**….the ending is terrible! The boss fight is nothing but button pressing action sequence! No challenge whatsoever!

A lot of fun if you’re looking for a nice kinda casual game to play. If you don’t look too much into it and just enjoy it for what it is, you will love it. Also the soundtrack is Amazing!

STORY: Quentin Tarantino-esque femme fatale Rubi is one ticked off chick. As a hired gun, she gets double crossed on a deal and sets out across three continents kicking butt, foregoing names, and acrobatically killing all who crossed her. Fun story, but not groundbreaking. Straight-to-DVD-movie-plot. If Eliza Dushku (who voices Rubi) was in Kill Bill, this is what it would have been like.
GRAPHICS: They look nice on both platforms, though the optional film grain can take away from the decent lighting and effects, shadows, and bloom. Fortunately, this can be removed, and it looks pretty comparable to other games. Not groundbreaking or anything that you haven’t seen better elsewhere, but decent to the eyes. The level of detail and design and population of the levels is done with care.
SOUND: Entertaining 70′s style music accompanies the 12 or so missions and the music changes at appropriate times. Not the same annoying beat as you go about killing. The sound effects of the guns, however, are pretty lame. Almost sound like an old VHS action movie.
GAMEPLAY: Rubi can jump, wall run, slide, flip, swing, hang, invert (man this babe is flexible) while shooting baddies in slow-mo. As long as you are still hitting your targets, the slow-mo never ends, so there is no time limit. If you do stop shooting or not hitting a target, the game returns to normal speed. You can kick it off again simply by doing another acrobatic move and shooting.
You run along various levels and locales, shooting or slashing (with your sword) all the bad guys, mix in with fun quicktime events (the car chase is breathtaking as you hop from car to car)! and that’s pretty much the game. There are hidden cymbol-clashing monkey toys to find and health, but not much else to do except clear a room level, and move on to the next. The boss fights sadly, are also done with quicktime events, which I don’t get. I love QT, but would have been nice to actually use your own skills when taking them down. There are separate challenge rooms you unlock such as timed run and gun, but that’s about it. You can unlock BIOS and sketches from options menu, but no movies.
Lots of swearing, drug, alcohol, sexy stuff, so not a family game (though my grandma loved this. Just kidding!) But its fun. Not worth $60 though, I would rent or demo if interested. However, if you love a cheezy revenge plot game, with 8 hours of High octane action with brutal kills and don’t mind the above flaws, this game is fun to unwind with. Akin to Dead to Rights where its fun and fast, but no lasting appeal, no multiplayer, and no reason to play it again once you’ve romped through the single player mission.
But, WetWork looks great on a resume if you are an assassin!

WET is a great 3rd person shooter. I am not a fan of the 1st person shooters and have been looking forward to it for a while.
I got the game about five days ago and have about 10hrs into it.
The game is really fun you get to play a super cool female problem solver that can do acrobatics such as jumping, wall running, and sliding and when you do this time slows down and you can shoot. One of your guns is targeted on the closest enemy and the other you manually target with the right stick. The combat is really fun and can be quite challenging. You get extra points to purchase upgraded acrobatic activities based on your combos while in combat and this also regenerates your life.
The combat is so fun for me because it is not just shooting but sliding and shooting, jumping and shooting, wall running and shooting and is so cool and fun.
The story is really cool with voices from Malcolm Mcdowell and Eliza Dushku (mis spelled) from Jay and Silent Bob strikes back. The variety of locations is cool and the activities are pretty varied from combat and platforming. To jumping off the tops of moving cars and shooting. To doing timed trial events where you have to platform and shoot targets that only appear for seconds and finish a course in a certian amt of time.
I am not real good at games so It always takes me a lot longer to finish games than other people, but I feel this game has a good playing length. Also tons of playability since you will probably get a lot better at combos the more you play it an it would be fun to replay levels once you are an expert. I think there are different difficulty levels. Also there are some other modes than story mode, but I don’t know anything about those, just been playing the story mode.
The graphics are great and definantly as good as any other next gen game I have played up to date.
The game has a great soundtrack of what I consider punk music that goes great with the game.
The controls are great but took me a little to get used to but work well once you get the hang of it. Most any problems I had with the game were me and not the games.
The difficulty level is challenging but after a few trys I have been able to get through the areas so far.
This is probably the coolest game I have every played. It’s like the coolest female hero taking on the mob mixed with a punker/apocalypse feel. Sort of like the movie doomsday which I love mixed with a mob.
This is based on only 10hrs of play, just though I would share my views, since I have purchased a lot of games based on other reviews here I wanted to let people know this game is fun!

i’ll admitt no game should get five stars but here are my reasons why:
1- The grindhouse feel is a real treat to play through and the little movie cutscenes are a good touch
2-controls are TIGHT. And I do mean tight. It didn’t really matter that I couldn’t map the buttons that I wanted cause the controls were that good and the reaction time was great if you wanted to make a quick move it happened.
3-Music sets the mood and the voice acting is good. Not great but then again its suppose to be a grindhouse game. But compared to other games this section still gets more bang even with the cheesey dialogue.
4-Replay value its high cause no matter what there is something that you want to see just cause it looked cool.
5-Bottom line its just plain fun! There have been to many games getting exposure and some overexposed and then falling flatter then a pancake and are not fun at all. But read all the reviews and they all admit that its FUN. ANd that is something that I think has been missing in a lot of games lately. And that is the fun factor.
I’m not trying to hype this game up and yes I was one of the few people waiting to see what this game was about and yes I had my doubts playing a few duds recently. But it didn’t dissapoint and no its not goiong to leave that much of an impression but I don’t think that is what the makers was shooting for and what they ended up with was something different, something new, something fun and something that could be a movie if someone picks it up. I would pay to see this in the movies. But for now I’ll just play this to get my fix.

The game play and the story line are great but is really short. and hopefully there will be a second game since you are left with a cliff hanger. The game is exciting and at time the controls are difficult; but the time you beat it you should master them. I love the game and encurage people to buy it.

I was anticipating WET since I first read about it on IGN. After finishing the game, I can say that it’s pretty solid overall and I found it fairly enjoyable. A lot of people are complaining about the controls, but I found them to be pretty intuitive. Not really sure what their problems were. The style, presentation, acting and music are all top-notch. The graphics are a little rough around the edges, but I wasn’t expecting them to be great. I found the acrobatics to remain surprisingly fresh throughout most of the game, although things do get a bit repetitive towards the end (and yes, the final boss “battle” sucks). But there were plenty of “woah” moments for me when I wondered how other games haven’t already tried some of the aspects before. With trophy support and adjustable difficulties, I’ll play through this again soon. It may not be worth the full $50+ price tag, but it’s certainly worth checking out once the price drops or if you can find it used.

This game is great! It’s a mix between Matrix and Kill Bill. I would recommend this to everyone.

I have read some of these other reviews… in my honest opinion my response to the ones complaining is try harder! The game has a learning curve and takes actual SKILL to complete… with that said it will challenge gamers of ALL levels! It breaks in the extra moves scene by scene as you gain experience. This is giving you the foundation of what you need to pull off all of the crazy stunts as the game progresses!
The graphics are fantastic! They are exactly what they were meant to be encompassing anime, westerns, inner city, fast cars, swords, guns and so much more! It is obviously a spin off of a Beatrice like character, from Kill Bill who enjoys her work all too well. Using guns and swords to collect her paycheck and running you back and forth from China, to England to America all over the globe.
This game is amazing… it would make one HELL of a MOVIE!!! If you think you are good enough to beat any game… grab this title crank it too its most challenging difficulty setting and keep a box of kleenix next to you as you are served up some humble pie.
