The PS2 and the PS3 have the same type video output, so if you get or have the PS2 component video cable, it will work with the PS3. Also, the cables labled as for the PS2 seem to be cheaper.
I waited a month fot this item to be in stock, until some guy at Game Stop told me this. I had the PS2′s component video cable, so I just connected it to the PS3 and I got my HD. A guy in wal mart also told me that the XBOX 360′s cable would work, but this is unverified.
Ignore the stars I assinged, the site won’t let you post if you don’t rate, and I just wanted to get this info out there.

Yes you can get cheaper HD on the PS3 with optical audio, but I didn’t feel like running all over town for the 1/4-the-price component + stereo cable and then hunting for a decent length optical toslink cable so I got this instead. It’s on the pricey side as you’d expect from Monster but the connectors are nice machined pieces instead of unreliable rolled sheet metal. They wont break the connector board off the back of your TV or AV receiver when you try to plug them in or remove them.
It’s also quite long (ladies…) and having both cables the same length means you wont be stuck with unsightly coiled wires in the ten foot span between the shiny new game console on your mantle and your home theatre on the other side of the room.
I feel it’s a decent buy because other stores can gouge you for cables (alliteratively named electronics stores, I’m looking in your direction!!) and the combo pack isn’t really much more expensive than individual ps2/ps3 component and toslink cables. If you can find them 10 feet long.
Lost an overall star for the high price and my personal shame at buying this brand.
Lost fun-ness stars because well… it’s just not that fun.

I bought this because the picture on this site says this cable supports 720p/1080i/1080p, and a reviewer above says the cable supports 1080p, however, when I got the cable it only supports 1080i – so get a cheaper 1080i composite cable that will work just as well. That being said, the quality at 1080i is top notch.

Works Great! I just got my Playstation hooked up to my TV with these and it looks amazing. I’m a huge believer in Monster Cable and they still haven’t let me down.

Bought this set at bargain price from one of the Amazon’s merchants! It was used and price of it was of 1/3 of the list price.
High quality cables, I especially liked the component one: 3 meter cable with good shielding, it’s as thick as some power cables, multi-AV easily fits the PS3, RCAs are made of thick metal and sit tight on component inputs. It takes a little time to connect them, you just have to rotate them carefully. So I don’t understand all this whining about ubertight Monster cables! Come on people! Use your brains not only for writing dumb reviews!
Summary: Good but expensive set for the owners of old projectors and TVs without HDMI input. Please note that you can’t get analog sound with this set. Only digital sound through optical cable! Receiver with optical input is a must!

you can find many places on the net that sell high quality component cables that perform as well and better than monster no need waste your money on this marketing hype, even the Sony brand is cheaper and performs very well…. do some research when getting into home theater and electronics!! its easy and you’ll be glad your not getting swindled!!

Took for PS 2(as sockets on both consoles are identical)… for PS 3 it is better to use HDMI a cable.
The given cable is the best decision for transfer of audio and video of a signal from PS 2 to your source of the image. For transfer of video of a signal componental connection, and for audio – optics is used. There is nothing to think here – this complete set of cables can transfer greatest possible pure in comparison with any kinds of connections (composit, S-video connection kinds) a signal. Besides all know that “Monster” is the leader in manufacture of the given kind of production. Though the price for production of the given manufacturer usually considerably above, than at others… but with the account of that you buy on “Amazon” it is possible to buy with the considerable discount. Sense to buy the cheap… more less if it is possible to buy greatest possible for the same money. To choose to you… and I have already made the choice).
