Hardware & Accessories PS3 S Video CableSony PS3 S VIDEO CABLE part number 98043 Compatible with:$24.99http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/31svx%2BE954L._SL160_.jpg
This cable is great for the PS3 for Svideo or component. High quality connectors with a grip that does not get too large to plug into tight spaces like audio/video switches. Many cables widen after the connector and make insertion into audio/video switch boxes difficult, this cable is not one of them. Very well designed.
This is a high quality cable that allows you to use the s-video connection on your TV. Be warned though, it won’t let you listen to SACDs or Blu-ray disks. This is not the cable’s fault but is due instead to paranoia induced copy-protection used on those formats which require an HDMI cable.
I recently got a PS2 slim and wanted to have improved picture and sound quality since I didn’t feel the default composite cables were doing the job. I looked around for PS2 specific s-video cables, since my TV doesn’t have component inputs, and I kept finding third party brands that didn’t seem like a good idea.
Through research I found that all three Playstation releases can use the same cable to connect to a TV so I searched for PS3 S-video and found these.
The construction in them is great, because the cables are very thick and have gold plated contacts. They feel very strong and hopefully will last a long time. The cables also have shielding in them which prevents interference from nearby appliances and other cables they might be draped over.
As for picture quality increase, I found that there was a rather noticeable improvement in picture quality using these cables over the default cables that came with the system. Considering my TV doesn’t have component cables, that makes these cables the best that I can get for my TV.
If you are looking to hook up a PS1, PS2, or even a PS3 to a SDTV that only has S-video as the best connection, then these are for you. If your TV has component cable inputs, I would recommend using those as they will provide better quality.
i was using the cable that came with the ps3 and it sucks so i went out and bought the s video cable and dam it was worth every penny spent on it awsome picture quality almost like 1080 thats how good the s video is..i suggest everyone go out and get a svideo cable…..

The S-Video Is Only A Must When You Don’t Have A HDMI Capable T.V.
If Your T.V Is Old Like Mine And Has A S-Video I Highly Suggest This Cable.

I bought this cable to connect my PlayStation 3 to my projector. It works perfectly for video playback, including playing Blu-ray movies.

If you don’t have a high definition television, this cable is essential if you want to read small text on games like Metal Gear Solid 4.
