Hi,
I am really enjoying the sabotuer. it has really great graphics wwii style. The heavily occupied nazi areas are a glossy black and white, while the other areas not as heavily occupied are color. As you progress through the game you change the areas to color.
The gameplay is very fun. Driving cars is fun. You can drive any one and they are fun and fast to control. You can run, jump, stealth, punch, kick, drive, climb buildings, shoot, and set demolitions.
You control Sean an Irish regular guy much like most of us. He meets with various resistance people and performs missions. I will not tell about the missions or story as you should experience them yourself. Also since I am only 10hrs into it I don’t know everything. Anyway the story and missions so far are really good and fun.
The game can be quite challenging once the nazis are alerted that you are a sabotuer. To help this you can melee attack with fists or kicking using stealth and being undetected and wear any nazis uniform. Or you can go in blazing which is tough. Anyway there are different approaches you can use. You can always climb buildings. But sooner or later the nazis are alerted and you have to go in blazing and it is quite challenging the ai is very relentless and good. After the missions you will have to outrun the nazis or when ever you are detected and want to not be. Then you have to either run or drive out side of the circle on the mini map that the nazis are chasing you. There are also a lot of targets to blow up and I will not spoil any but there are hundreds if not thousands. The map is big and there it is a really cool world. You can map out your location when driving so you can follow a marker on the mini map that is always shown at the bottom of the screen
Also which is cool when you finish missions or blow up targets you get black market currency where you can buy weapons or cars and you can even get upgrades that will improve your abilities.
anyway in conclusion. This is a very fun game with great graphics, a great story and characters, great action gameplay, fun driving, great controls, and Sean can do anything you would ever want a person to do. I mean as in running , jumping, driving, etc. Usually in a game they don’t have an action you wish they did. In this one I thought they covered all the bases for a character. I haven’t noticed any bugs. I read a review on the xbox 360 version where a guy said it had bugs like floating cars only in the first 2 hrs of play, but I have been on the ps3 version for 10hrs and not noticed any bugs. And have even stopped playing uncharted 2 because I am having more fun with this.
I plan on finishing the review after I finish the game just wanted to give my 2 cents for up to now.

**updated on Dec 28th 2009.
Just finished the game missions 100% didn’t do hardly any free play targets. Anyway I loved the game. Very cool story. Which includes the character and missions. The missions are very varied and as the nazis get stronger you can also purchase stronger weapons. It seems that the game is always progressing and your character along with it so while the missions are challenging, you are able with the right approach to finish them. Some of the missions took me a few trys to get through but I enjoyed the game enough to keep trying. Sometimes I thought too hard but just aproached it a different way. Kinda of cool you have to think in an action approach instead of a puzzle approach. I didn’t ever wonder what to do as I think the missions are very well layed out. You just think how to finish them without getting killed rather than what am I supposed to do. One of the races took me all night to win. But was super fun and exciting! Some of the missions had so much action on the screen a lot of times I was just smiling and I was very engroused with the action. I didn’t have any time playing that wasn’t exciting. All in all the most fun game I have played right up the with mercs 2. I didn’t notice any bugs and would call this my game of the year. Also some of the cars you can get when you start racing are sweeeeeet!

I wasn’t sure if I should get this game or not, but I’m glad I did. The game play/control system is the same free city run around most commonly recognized as the GTA style. But this game is much better than GTA. On top of the aesthetic and entertainment value increase, I prefer being a womanizing, drinking Irishman during WWII in Paris killing Nazis, instead of killing civilians and cops in town. Its not at all a game for children or people squeamish about violence and nudity, but its a great game and well worth the buy.

this game is awesome. its cool blowing up pretty much anything. this had all the right elements to me. regenerating health, I hated fighting on gta 4 losing health then having to run and grab a hot dog. I love the regenerating health saves trouble finding health packs. the action was just right not too hard not too easy. I will admit the climbing is a little slow but to me its more realistic. I even liked the side missions, they didnt seem tacked on like pick up a certain car and bring it back, or bowling! I loved the mission where you had to blow up the chemical factory, everything you shot was explosive. I would say I loved the saboteur as much if not more than red faction guerilla and that’s saying alot cuz I absolutely had a blast with red faction. Dont hesitate. GO BUY THIS GAME!

Assassins Creed gives you; mapping, stealth/sneaking, climbing, walking, riding, running, jumping, swimming and killing. Fallout3 gives you, mapping, lots of weapons, snipering w/zoom, walking, running, swimming, climbing, blowing things up, where disquises, sneaking to mention a few. GTA gives you; driving/racing vehicles, running over people, shooting, etc. All have open world and limited open world gameplay.
Well “SABOTEUR” GIVES YOU ALL this and MORE!!!! MUCH, MUCH, MORE!!!!
Storyline (loose); You are Sean Devlin an Irish race car driver touring France when the Nazi Occupation occurs in the early 1940′s. (prior to outbreak of WWII)
Being trapped in Paris and local countryside Devlin has limited choices. Drive around and be harrassed by the Nazi’s or get involved with the Resistance (French and English) His driving skills are needed badly!!!! The rest is up to you!! Trust me this is a must have game!!!!!
Game Description/Background; you have approximately 20 square miles of open world game play, centered in Paris (famous landmarks ie. the Effiel Tower (which you can climb),surrounding detailed countryside, towns, coastal locations, railroads, factories etc. What an amazing canvas to play in.
COMPLETE INTERACTION WITH THE ENVIRONMENT!!!!
SABOTEUR STUFF!!! These are the high lights of the most used features in brief (a tease) PERKS – the more proficient you become the better stuff you can get.
CONTRABAND – everything is worth something for trade/purchase in the black market. MAPS – ( NOTE:You will always have a your local eye sight map picture on the screen).Map mode displays entire game play area. Buying maps gives you detailed information on this map, Nazi emplacements, check points, Resistance Head Quarters, Auto repair shops and black market traders, Also roads, towns, railroads, factories, rivers, bridges etc. Very detailed need to know, for Saboteur planning, carrying out mission and escape route (this is A MUST for successful mission completion). (NOTE: There are several maps to earn/buy throughout the game. FUN STUFF!!!
WORKING WITH THE RESISTANCE; Unlocks for you;Auto repair shops, Head Quarter locations, (NOTE: THE ONLY PLACE YOU CAN SAVE YOUR GAMES!!!! So find as many as you can for saving) BLack Market locations – restock all your supplies/stuff. Maps and Nazi locations. Resistance assistance (send help when you need it!!!). Weapons and upgrades. Automobile from clunkers to race cars, Disquises, certified traveling papers for traversing Nazi check points. Skill experience.
Sean Devlin’s Skills; Race car driver (you’ll do a lot of driving) try driving all the game vehicles they handle very differently. Know your escape route !!!
While being chased you don’t want them to direct you into a trap/dead end!! (NOTE: I always before the mission attempt I stage the cars escape direction to the straight route initially to gain distance. USING YOUR MA FEATURE PUT YOUR PURPLE MARKER ON THR RESISITANCE HG. when you enter the vehicle the route is labled/traced on the map so you can follow the purple trail back to safety.
Hundreds of sites/targets to explore, dozens of vehicles to driver, dozens of weapons /ordnance to use.
As you can see the detail is amazing. In short my Devlin load out is; Pistol w/silencer, Sniper rifle w/zoom, gernades, and dynamite!!. Best place to be rooftops (like Assassins Creed) Get high and destroy Nazi snipers in towers first. Always check 360 degrees before taking shot. If the see yo escape is must. ALWAYS PLAN AN ESCAPE BEFORE!!!!!. Blow things up have a ball!!!
This is an awesome game at least 150 hours of open game play. Great Graphics and plenty of fun and surprises in store. I free lance to destroy targets along escape route. This is a thinking mans game so have at it.
This only a tip of the iceberg. A MUST HAVE GAME. Thank you EA this is a GREAT GAME, MY SLEEPER HIT OF THE YEAR!!!!!!
ENJOY!!!

This is one of the best games I’ve played. It’s a mix between GTA and Farcry2 but it takes place in 1940′s Paris France. You get to go around and blow stuff up and kill Nazi’s. You should try it out definitely worth it.

Viva la RĂ©sistance! I have always loved the Grand Theft Auto game engine but I never like the idea of killing innocent people, taking drugs or killing prostitutes. This game gives me everything I wanted and more. The visuals are great, and you fight to restore peace to France. It’s great! I’m loving it. The only thing I would change would be to make the character French. It seemed odd that the guy you play is Irish but the Resistance in the game has Germans, Americans, Chinese etc. which I like because well, everyone hated the Nazis. Great Game!

Simply one of the best games I’ve played on PS3. Great music too (Nina Simone, Ella Fitzgerald!). And even after finishing the game was still able to kill a bunch of Nazi’s!

Wasn’t sure of this game at first but it’s loads of fun. I love it on the way to do a mission and you make the Germans mad and all the sudden you hear that siren coming up on you and the chase is on to escape them. I especially love the game play as you climb the buildings to do jobs and make your escape.

It all starts with Sean Devlin punching a Nazi general in the face and stealing his uniform. Unfortunately, Sean gets spotted, and loses his disguise as the first alarm whistle blows.
The following is a highlight reel of the ensuing chaos.
Alarm 1: Climb onto rooftops to shake ground troops, get peppered by sniper, dynamite sniper’s tower.
Climb onto nearby AA turret platform, throw two Nazis off (achieve Bronze Perk to unlock new abilities & equipment), take control of cannon. Alarm escalates!
Alarm 2: Start laying waste to Nazi towers and speakers within range. Lovely explosions and gained contraband.
Alarm 3: Destroy several approaching armored troop transports. Mass of Nazis grows on street level, leave turret, drop grenade off rooftop, kill 17 Nazis with single blast (achieve Silver Perk & more unlockables). Run out of rifle ammo sniping, return to turret.
Alarm 4: Shoot down 12 attacking zeppelins and more transports (achieve Gold Perk + still more goodies).
Place charge on AA gun; BOOM. Start running. Slide down zipwire, drop to street. Hijack Nazi motorcycle, hit three jumps running from pursuing zeppelin et al through French countryside. Run over hapless Nazi general. Plant charge on bike, bail, destroy Nazi fuel station with exploding bike.
Steal Nazi fuel truck, run over many more evil Germans, tear through French farmland, plow through Nazi checkpoint, return to city limits, half of the Third Reich right behind, search desperately for a shack or trap door to hide in.
How will Sean escape? The rest is up to you, dear gamer!
This is just a small example of what you can expect while playing The Saboteur, which is by far the best sandbox game I have ever played.
Don’t pass on this game just because it sounds like GTA. The WWII-era Paris setting is incredibly realized, and the game shifts smoothly from driving to climbing to shooting to stealth and back again without a hitch. This versatility isn’t surprising, since developer Pandemic made Mercenaries and its sequel, but The Saboteur is a hundred times better.
As far as totally unexpected surprises of this current generation go, The Saboteur is right there with the superlative Demon’s Souls. Too bad Pandemic is no more, because their final game is an open-world gift to gamers everywhere.
In short, The Saboteur deserves to be played.
