This game is great if you have young kids that don’t quite have the coordination to play Rock Band. The Super Easy mode that they’ve added is perfect for kids because they can play the guitar by just using the strum bar or play the drums by hitting any color pad they want. You can also turn on “auto drum pedal” so that you don’t have to worry about hitting the foot pedal with the drums if you don’t want to. If you don’t have kids, you probably won’t get much out of this game. But if you have kids that struggle with the regular Rock Band, this game is great!

It’s definitely worth the buy if you are a rock band fan or have smaller kids that enjoy legos and/or music.

I played with a 4 year old over the weekend and he loves the drums and with the super easy mode he can still go for the correct colored pads but hitting the wrong one on occasion doesn’t hurt the score or his fun factor. Playing the Ghostbusters challenge really lit up his face as did mine.

Adding a Hendrix song to the RB catalog was my largest personal draw as well as a few other tracks I enjoy. All songs in this game do export to Rock Band 2 for the $10 license fee. Also something like 200 of the more family friendly songs of the regular rock band catalog will import to the Lego game for free.

I have to admit, I was skeptical when this title was first announced. I’m a big fan of the Rock Band franchise, and I thought that merging it with the Lego franchise would be a big step in the wrong direction. But after giving it a try, I was very pleased with how it came out. Granted, I’m not it’s target market (kids and families are it’s main demographic), but the songs are a great mix of solid quality pop music, that can be easily exported to play in Rock Band 2. And this weekend, a friend’s 5 year old got to try it out. 4 hours later, he was still rocking, and the adults were trying to keep up. If you have a little one, or are a fan of Rock Band, this is a MUST BUY!

I can’t comment much on the game itself since I exported all songs and play them on Rock Band 2, but the game has a fantastic list of songs, and surprisingly (since it’s a Lego game) some of them are highly challenging to play. Unfortunately, the songs in this game are not available as single downloads for Rock Band, so you have to buy the entire game, but for me this list of songs was definitely worth it.

I was a little worried that this would be boring for my husband and I but got it for our 7 and 3 year olds. We love it! It has songs we recognize from the radio as well as a super easy mode for the 3 year old who thinks she can do what her brother does! It even has a mode for taking the foot pedal off of the drums to make it a little easier for my parents when they come to play! Plus we love the lego aspect of it! All around great product! Now if we could just get them to come out with an Elvis or a Christmas edition…that would be really great!

This game is great for all ages. The songs are fun and numerous to begin with and the difficulty settings start at super easy, which involves just strumming the guitar, no need to push the right colored keys. The rock band 2 guitar is great for the younger player because it has two sets of buttons so reach isn’t a problem.

My kids aren’t singers so we haven’t used that feature yet. All of us have played and enjoyed, kids ages 15-7 and two parents.

I’ve really enjoyed the Lego games and though I’ve never played any “Rock Band” games, I’ve played several “Guitar Hero” games, and I figured six of one, you know. So I went into the game with certain expectations for fun, as it’s a Lego game and a music game.

I’m pleased to report these expectations were lived-up to! The game was everything I’d hoped for and more!

If you’ve played any of the “Guitar Hero” or “Rock Band” games, you’re familiar with the formula: you play an instrument, either solo or in a band. You earn points/dollars/studs and unlock songs. The publisher also hopes you spend extra money to download songs.

This game does not break from that formula, but it does introduce a fun Lego aesthetic. All the characters are made from Lego, as are the vehicles that you can unlock. The venues feature huge Lego crowds and Lego items are strewn throughout. Even the little dots that show you what notes to press are made from Lego bricks! There’s even famous Lego people that turn up. You’ll get a good laugh when you see Freddie Mercury in Lego form.

The song list isn’t quite what I’d been looking for, but it isn’t bad, and you can download more (like “Still Alive” from “Portal”). The songs are pretty affordable and the ones on the game aren’t bad, they just aren’t great.

Also the easy mode is a little too easy, but I’m not used to using all four buttons, so the medium mode is a little challenging for me. Still, that’s a minor problem.

Overall this is a great game and a great buy! Now if they do a second version, maybe they’ll package it with a Lego guitar controller…

We didn’t own any other version of Rock Band before now, so I can’t go on past experiences as far as content, but we love this game. My son is a big lego fan, and that is the main reason we went for this version. Plus we knew the songs were going to be family friendly.

The lego versions of the players are cute, although I suppose hard core fans aren’t looking for ‘cute’. The songs were a good mix, and we can’t wait to start building up a bigger library of songs!

There are plenty of difficulty levels to suit a range of abilities, and the tutorials are pretty good. Overall I really like this version…you can purchase more songs separately, so if you like the lego look but would rather have other songs, that’s simple enough to do. This is definitely a good choice for a family. We got Beatles Rock Band at the same time, and that one is definitey aimed more at adults, not because of the content but mainly the difficulty level from the very beginning. Lego Rock Band is one that every member of my family was able to get into straight away.

I can’t really rate this one except on what my gradson tells me. He thinks it is an awesome game :)

My 9 year old son has several guitar hero games and loves them, but this takes the cake!! He got this game for Christmas and did not stop playing until he beat it, and he still plays it. He has everyother Lego game as well, and builds Legos all the time. Tons of unlockable content, good game play(like all the others) but the content is what sets it apart. If you have a child that likes these kind of games and likes Legos as well, this is a no brainer. Even I like the little Lego guys dancing on stage and the cool costumes you get as the game progresses.

Another note. It seems to me and the wife that they took a lot of time putting this game together. After playing GHWT and other this game just ranks above. Once again it seems a little easier at times, but the attention to detail is fantastic. The characters really seem in sync with the music no matter what song you are playing. In other games like this that we have played it seems like an after thought, but they really did a great job of setting this game up. That really impressed me! Just my 2 cents worth.

    Buy it and have fun!!!!
