I would consider myself a hardware junkie and a heavy gamer. That said this is one of the better mouses I’ve used in years. Before I get into the positives if you do not prefer a flat mouse profile this mouse won’t be for you. Look into the Microsoft Sidwinder or Logitech G5 or G9 as those offer a higher profile to fit your hand if that is your preference.

The type of games I mainly play are shooters (COD4 lately), Word of Warcraft, and a few RTS’ers. In shooters the mouse is great. Tracking is spot on and quick. The sensor stops tracking at a lower height than most mice so if you are the type that picks up and moves the mouse around a lot, this is your mouse. The scroll wheel has a solid click while scrolling so it makes it easy to select weapons. There is no side clicking on the wheel just your old school wheel. I did find the click-down on the wheel sensitive and hit it accidently a few times.

The left and right click buttons are a nice solid click. More to like a logitech MX5xx series or G5 series mouse rather than a super sensitive click like the MS mice can be. The side buttons are what make the mice for me. Using the Razer software you can program all 4 side buttons (2 on each side) easily. Button 5 and 6 plus macros can be assigned to those 4 in any order. This is a great thing for games like WoW if you need lots of hot keys since this adds two more possibilities on the right side of the mouse. However it takes a bit of dexterity to get used to using the right side buttons.

The software is quite handy. I never have been a fan of software programs that are put out for mice, but this one is very clean and doesn’t seem to bog the system down much. Lots of options to customize here and you can have several profiles set. To switch through them there’s a button on the bottom of the mouse that cycles through them or you can switch through in the program. The pulsing logo can be turned on or off as well as the light on the wheel. This is great for bedroom gamers that want to get some sleep. Overall this is a great gamer’s mouse with lots of options and buttons to go along with it.

It is a Great Mouse for gaming.

Only couple minor thing I want to mention about it.

    1. I personally prefer a wireless gaming mouse with the quality of Razr Lachesis. I have way too many wires around my computer.

    2. I notice this mouse will probably work the best on a Razr mouse pad.

Besides above 2 points, I am very happy about this mouse.

Truly an amazing mouse. Perfect for gaming or designing in Photoshop. 4000 DPI makes the mouse usable on any surface, even my reflective granite counter top. Quite an amazing product.

This one is great. As with all Razer products, you will have an entirely new gaming experience with this mouse. Its very lightweight and super sensitive so there is a slight learning curve. Once you have every setting the way you want it,though, your poor enemies will never know what hit them!!!!

The mouse itself is very well designed although there are some slight problems with the sensitivity of the sensor. For instance, the cursor moves when pressure is put on the mouse, and I’m assuming that is caused by the sensor detecting variations in height or there is a design error in the mouse that caused this. Other then that, the mouse works great and is quite an upgrade.

I own a Copperhead and a Death Adder and I love both mice. But I wanted something that was…”best of both worlds” per say. And the Lachesis turned out to be the perfect weapon for me.

It’s shape is what I hear a lot of people complain about, but for me it fits rather well. It’s designed to be for palm grips and claw grips for some users and it’s really quite comfortable and sleek, like some kind of well crafted sword. It does require a small learning curve, but once you get used to the shape it works really well for First Person Shooters. It’s fully customizable, you can change your dpi settings in ANY way you like and you can change the buttons to perform macros and be extra mouse buttons so you can map your favorite weapon or melee on the mouse. It’s very fast, and sensitive too thanks to it’s 3g sensor. All and all, it’s a very nice package and comes with a lot of cool features that make it perfect for pc gaming.

There are some issues though, one being that the cursor jumps. On higher dpi settings, when you press click on your mouse, it’ll actually move the cursor on your screen. A problem for some, but it didn’t bother me really. Another is the double clicking, if it’s too high you’ll have trouble simply opening programs (clicking on desktop icons, etc). Again, not that big of a deal, just decrease double click sensitivity. And as far as the firmware and drivers go, I honestly didn’t even have any problems with them, and I’m running on a 64 bit vista.

Overall, the Lachesis rocks, plain and simple. Great features, comfortable to use, and looks amazing. Definitely worth every penny that you’ll spend.

this mouse is amazing, besides that fact that it has a bunch of features and options it is also very simple to use, and very nice for whatever your doing, including some hard core gaming.

I recently upgraded from a first gen razer copperhead Ive had for 3 years and this is a big step up. Fits my hand alot better and has 2 smaller buttons behind the scroll wheel that you can adjust the speed of the cursor on the fly. Programmable buttons all around which I dont use but its good to have for future use. Noticeable improvement in gaming from before. Seems more accurate over standard optical mice. I wanted to go with a matching mouse, mouse pad(Razer pro solutions) and keyboard (Apple slim aluminum) in all white. The razer logo lights up white on top of the mouse and pulsates slowly. This is definitely for gamers and ones that want accuracy and speed on the fly along with being a little different than what everyone else has. Amazon had the best price on this mouse online, shop around it pays.

All I can say is this is another great Razer product. It did indeed come right out of the box with all the problems people described in other reviews. I installed the provided disk drivers and restarted as per instructions. My computer restarted and the mouse went dead. I had to unplug and replug to get it to power up. The mouse powered up and mouse movement was extremely jumpy and wouldnt move correctly. Reading reviews and looking around before I purchased the mouse I had a memory jog and was reminded to take the clear plastic off the bottom. PROBLEM SOLVED. I played around with the mouse and found that it would lag a second or two before moving after sitting for a couple seconds. Another quick trip to the review pages and found that this is an easy remedy. DOWNLOAD THE UPDATED DRIVERS! That task completed and the mouse moves and works like a dream. In this day and age with software and hardware upgrades it should be all but instant to go to a website and download the latest driver. I wont insult anyone but if you expect any computer part or product to work right out of the box without updated drivers you’re more than likely sorely mistaken.

I use this mouse with a steelseries mousepad and they are a great together. I personally love the look and feel ot Razer mice and they are a great fit for my hand and wrist posture. I havent played with any of the marco capabilities or anything like that but if it holds true to with other Razer products I wont be disappointed.

The only true recommendation I would offer someone that cant be fixed with a trip to the net is a trip to a local best buy or similiar store to see how the fit and feel to your hand will be. If you like what you see and feel hands on you wont be disappointed once you start using it.

Like mentioned above, dont let some of the down reviews deter you from this mouse. Take the plastic shipping sheet off the bottom and install the updated drivers and you wont be disappointed.

This is a great mouse! I was originally trying to buy a green razer copperhead, but that mouse is very hard to find. I soon realized that I could get the razer lachesis mouse for an equivilent price (using a gift card). This mouse has more features than the copperhead, and looks just as cool. At first I had problems with the right click button because it has a very sensitive “light” click to it. I was constantly right clicking on accident. I have already become accustom to this mouse and I can use it like a pro.

I have tested all of the features of this mouse and they all work great. I was very supprised with the number of ways the mouse can be customized. It took me a few good sit downs to fully understand what all of the setting in the driver were for.

Good mouse I recommend it for anyone
