I had purchased the Wii from a friend who is modern–and thus had HD. I have ancient tech, and purchased this cable second-hand to be able to play. I got the cable, and plugged everything in Saturday afternoon. I have already logged 5 hours on my Wii!

Great to have a back-up just in case of problems or moving to different locations.

I can leave the cable plugged into my home system and use a separate one.

They worked great, excellent value for the money. Basic replacement for stock cable that came with Wii. Much better deal than any retailer.
