This cable works fine, but it is not needed for the PS2. If you look in the box, you will find a similar cable. If you lose yours or it breaks or something, then you should probaly get this. Its stupid to buy 2.

I don’t know what I would do without this cable… The game console came with one, but sadly it was required to make the console work. I bought this one so I could display it above my fireplace.

What do you do with an extra set of A/v & power cables? … Answer, setup the big-screen TV with a set to watch blasting DVDs and nuke a few aliens in Quake. Setup a second set on the TV in the basement, so the kids have somewhere to play during Monday Nite Football … (one extra set of cables is cheaper than an extra PS/2 console) …

Wow, this was almost as good as the original Sony Cable that I can’t find.

This is NOT the original cable for any of the playstation consoles. The quality just looks straight out cheap.
It works, though, and it’s cheap, so I can place a larger profit on this item, as long as it works, but if you have the money get a higher quality or original Sony AV Cable.

The product is as it is described, and I fully endorse its purchase.
That being said, It should be noted that this is obviously not the regulation cord. If you are replacing an original cord, then you are going to lose a good two feet of length. This cord also lacks the mechanism at the PS2 end of the cable that protects it from kinks and pulls.
If your PS2 is already close to your TV, or you have the ability to arrange things the way you need to, then this is the wisest purchase for a replacement AV cord. If not, you have been warned.

My sound has gone out on my system. I ordered a new cable and it worked fine. Must have been in the cable. This cable was cheap and just like the original one.
