i liked it.i didn’t love it. i just liked it,that’s all.Prince of Persia is supposed to be action and crazy flippy acrobatic moves! not puzzles and crappy camera angles. it’s the fogrotten SANDS! there are no sand powers, just creation powers!i prefer sand not magic light!the thing that makes me mad is that the Prince has the dagger of time on his belt the whole time and doesn’t even use it! it’s just there saying,”suffer!Mwuahahahaha!” i did think the addition of bonus levels, costumes, etc. was a nice touch.

Overall:too many puzzles, not enough fighting. it’s okay for newcomers, but they will be surprised when they play it on X-Box or PS3(which are soooo much better).

When I heard that Ubisoft was making an all-new Prince of Persia game I thought it was going to be a sequel to the 2008 Prince of Persia game that was released on the 360 and PS3 or the videogame version of the Prince of Persia movie (that’s coming out May 28). Instead ubisoft gave us a Prince of Persia game that takes place after sands of time but before warrior within. Think of it as a side story in the Sands of Time trilogy (although I feel like the story has nothing to do with the Sands of Time trilogy). The Wii version of Prince of Persia the forgotten sand has nothing to do with the PS3/360 version at all (in terms of characters and story) and that’s actually a good thing that Ubisoft created a different game than trying to cram the PS3/360 version into the Wii version. The gameplay is pretty much like past Prince of Persia games with some noticeable differences. For starters you see a cursor on the screen that is used for magic. What you do is either point to a wall or a power plates. Other times the cursor is used to open up magic doors or solving certain puzzles. There is no rewind (or any other magic that manipulates time) in the Wii version of the forgotten stands instead you had these things called life orbs which when you die you start the last place you are standing however lose all your life orbs and you have to start the last save point (don’t worry you have unlimited lives). Graphically speaking the game looks really good on the Wii. I won’t say Mario galaxy good but way better than most third party games on the Wii. If there were some issues I had with the Wii version of the forgotten sand it would be:

    1. The camera-I won’t say it’s bad or awful but I find it annoying that I have to tap the C button to reset the camera.

    2. The combat-those that are going in expecting red steel 2 combat are going to be disappointed. Instead the combat plays more like twilight princess (where you’d use a simple flicks with your Wii remote to attack)

Overall the game is good it may not have the same magic as the Sands of Time trilogy did but it’s nice to see Ubisoft put some effort into the Wii version.

Having purchased the Wii version solely due to the extra powers and bonus content, I must say I’m not disappointed at all. Nevermind the Prince of Persia 2008 release, which was good in it’s own right, but didn’t bring back the fond memories of last gen’s PoP. Everything from the graphics to the atmospheric music drew me in. Wii needs more epic games such as this. I like the powers the prince now had and the genie reminded me of a less *itchy version of Elika. The one point in the game I have to bring on is that for the first few hours in (this is a long game) the story isnt as strong as I’d have liked, but more on in it gets better. The Wii version’s controls are dead on when it comes to the adventuring portions, but during fights although youre given a multitude of abilities I found that flailing the controllers wildly worked best lol. All in all I’m happy with a more traditional Prince title like Forgotten Sands and hope that they continue both Prince games as separate brands.

I am a frequent consumer of Ubisoft products, and an avid fan of the Prince of Persia games. Ever since the release of The Sands of Time for the Nintendo Gamecube, I have closely followed the series and enjoyed every title that has been produced to this point in time. So understandably, when I saw that a new title was being added to the series that I love, I pre-orderd a copy from a local business. I waited with high anticipation while watching incredible trailers on television for the XBox 360 and PS3 versions, but when I finally recieved my copy for the Nintendo Wii, I was sorely disappointed.

This game was completely different than advertised on the other systems in every sense of the word. It is clear from watching gameplay from, for example, the Playstation 3 and comparing it to the Wii, that the storylines are different and so are the games. It is not fair to release different games and market them with the same title, passing them off as the same product. This is a blatant slap in the face to the customer who is expecting one thing and receiving another–a perfect example of false advertising.

And, the game itself is, to put it lightly, terrible. It would seem that the developers put next to no effort into its production. The gameplay is not enjoyable, the graphics are worse than its predecessors, and the story (the most important aspect) is practically non-existent! Unlike the other games in the series, this is not a fun way to relax; it is a chore. After playing several hours of the game, I am left with the impression that Prince of Perisa: The Forgotten Sands for the Wii was slapped together at the last second for the sake of having it on sale when the motion picture was released.

In summation, I am thoroughly disgusted with the Wii version of Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands. While I am sure that the game is a work of art on the other consoles, this is a waste of time, money, and effort. I hope that the next time Ubisoft releases something, they will take into account the expectations of their loyal fans, and for this most recent action, they should be ashamed of themselves.

Wii owners constantly hear how any given game is sooo much better in either the PS3 or the 360. Those of us, like me, who only have a Wii are left to wonder. Well, this Prince of Persia game is fantastic. It seems like it was built “from the ground up” for the Wii. From the initial adrenaline-filled wild escape from some immense structure sinking into the sand, the game is full of twists that keep you entertained. The game feels fresh, that is, all the challenges are different. There are of course sword battles to be had, but this is not just a fighting game. There is also a fair amount of climbing ledges, flying over walls and then there are plenty of logic puzzles to solve.

The game provides a good balance of “wisdom-type” puzzles and “skill-based” scenarios. The game never becomes too difficult (I’m by no means a hard-core gamer and could get through the game).

Controls: Whether is is trying to align structures to make water flow through a room or light to get from one end of the room to the opposite end, or sword fighting an evil enchantress the controls are fairly responsive.

Graphics: Fairly impressive. There is a great level of detail in all the scenes. All the changes of scene fell fluid and there is very little stoppage in the action.

Sound: Great soundtrack that complements the action.

Summary: Overall a great game, one of the best action games for the Wii. Great graphics and sound complement the action. Something for everybody, from traditional fights to puzzle solving to first person adventure.
