WR, Sorry but I dont think you’ve used this mouse. It is not made of a cheap plastic. The sides of the mouse are rubberized for a better grip and the mouse buttons also are rubberized and feels very sturdy when gripped. While the cord for the earlier 1010 mouse was short, this cord is double in length at over 6 feet. The 1010 mouse had reported USB polling rate problems which are all fixed with this mouse. The software included with this mouse allows for changing the polling rate to 1000 hz. The software, which seemed to be the only really big problem with the 1010 is much improved. And yes, it does resemble the Wingman, but certainly that is not a bad thing as that mouse itself is legendary. I would definatly reccomend this mouse, it holds its own against many other gaming mice such as those by logitech and razer and is cheaper than most.

I love this laser mouse. I bought this mouse for my notebook computer, and it replaces my Targus Optical Notebook mouse with the fancy blue light. I have not used this mouse for gaming, so I cannot comment in that area. I use this mouse simply for heavy computer use and I wanted more accurate and faster tracking and this mouse does the trick. But, I feel this mouse is the same in quality and usage, for a basic heavy computer user like me, to the Kensington Laser Corded si300 Mouse (around $25 as of 1/20/07), which costs less than half the price of the Fatal1ty 2020 Laser Mouse (around $60 as of 01/20/07). I have the Kensington si300 Laser corded Mouse on my desktop computer and it works great also.

If you have used the previous model of the Fatal1ty mouse, you will be pleased with this model. The real big change that makes this a worthwile purchase is that the response is much smoother than the previous model, which will translate into more responsive and finer control in first-person shooters (FPS) such as Battlefield 2. One other change is that the ring finger button is a little harder to press, which some find to be an advantage. The interchangeable weights are great for modulating the response that you need. If you are using a conventional mouse for gaming, it will take some adjusting to get used to the shorter profile of the mouse, but once you do you will probably not want a different mouse ever. I honestly will not go back to a regular mouse because in my opinion this is the best gaming mouse available. It has buttons in all the right spots and lets you dial in the weight to suit your gaming style. I highly recommend it to all FPS players.

To start off, I would say I got lucky when I ordered my Fatal1ty laser mouse. I’ve read many reports of this mouse not working after a month or so, with a double clicking issue. I am happy to say I did not get these problems.
Te design of this mouse is very different than other mice, especially logitech mice, which are held by your whole hand. This mouse is held by the “claw,” which basically means you hold it with your fingers, and your wrist can rest on the table. Personally, I prefer slightly smaller mice to the giant logetech ones.
The laser tracking on this mouse is extremely smooth and accurate. The polling rates, as you may or may not have read, are 1000hz (which means that it refreshes its signal 1000 times a second). The dpi at max is 2400, also helping out the smooth and accurate motion.
The mouse buttons require a bit more effort to press than I would like, but it’s not something that I’d worry about. It takes a while to get used to the button on the far right, since most mice don’t have that button. The dpi change button, right under the mouse wheel, feels a bit too hard to press to change on the go, but I’ve never had to do that in middle of a game before. The thumb button is nicely placed so that to press it, you roll your thumb inward and you press it.
The weight system does it job in this one, although with the heavier weights, you’ll need to secure the weight with something around it, such as tape. There’s a small issue of slight wobbling of the weight when you move it around.
The teflon feet are large and do a very good job of keeping the mouse sliding smoothely on the table.
In terms of overall feel, the mouse feels great. There are a few small issues here and there, but the overall performance of the mouse overshadows these.

I love how you sort of grip the mouse like a claw, and that it’s so sensitive. I can change the DPI in an instant, and the driver software is easy to install.
I’ve had this for 4 years, no problems yet. Go Fatal1ty, go!

Just ordered it the other week and received it today. So far it is an excellent mouse.. smooth and very responsive. No issues whatsoever. The creative utility for it is really well laid out. a lot more in depth than razer’s utility.

I had a 5 star response and now it’s not working correctly
I bought this mouse and it worked for a short time. Now it randomly double clicks and I cannot drag and drop. It may be the reason for it being $20.00. I am out this money and also Creative has no support once you buy the product. The software is no where to be found. If anyone has a fix for this problem let me know.
There has been multiple reviews on other websites of this mouse working for a very short time and then double clicking on a single click. I have contacted Creative Labs and they want me to pay for shipping $10.00 at least to send this FEDEX or UPS with insurance. Well I paid 20.00 for the mouse and I am not interested in putting another dime for a product that has failed on me and is not my fault. This is a Lemon….not a mouse. I have tried to contact creative labs and I get a foreigner that barely speaks english, and tells me that this is the policy….Period. Creative products are also not supported with drivers on there website, so if you ever needed to reinstall the software if you happen to misplace the CD your out of luck. I will never buy another creative labs product.
Amazon has come through for me as Creative Labs points the finger at Amazon and says, go to Amazon if you don’t want to pay the shipping for the return of the mouse. AMAZON has sent me a new mouse of the same type and has sent shipping label for the bad one. THAT IS CUSTOMER SERVICE….THANK YOU AMAZON!!!! We will see how the other mouse holds up….

Just finished building my gaming computer and needed a gaming mouse to play cryis with. This mouse is great as a gaming mouse and the price can’t be beat for the performance. I did notice a little jitter of the mouse icon at the fastest setting, depending on the web page you are on. Besides that, I would buy this again as it is perfect for any hand (only wrist movement needed).

This is not a big mouse and if you are use to a full size windows mouse, this one will feel small. The adjustable weights will help you find the right feel for yourself and the convenient clickable light at the top will let you change your sampling rate on the fly. There are 5 programmable buttons and one of the nicest features is the third mouse button for your middle finger. It falls naturally into place and you will find yourself using it for different functions depending on the game you are playing. So much packed in so little for a low price, try to beat it. Yeah I have a Copperhead and a G18 but I have 2 of these and I am not looking back.

I have been using these mice for over a year now and I can honestly say I have never had such comfort and responsiveness with a gaming mouse.
I play multiple healer characters in World of Warcraft and this mouse is extremely responsive to my “twitch healing” play style.
From Team Fortress 2, Fallout 3, Peggle, the Battle Field series, to regular old web-surfing this mouse is great.
I have not experienced any click issues, or had any of the 5 mice (yes 5!) I have purchased fail yet, I have one on each of my computers (laptop too) and even bought one for work!
The oldest two have been going strong for a year, the others 4 to 8 months with no issues yet.
It does take about a week of use to become comfortable using it.
You use your thumb and fingers to guide the mouse more than your palm, wrist, or hand.
Use the various weights! Finding the best weight for what you do the most, if you dont want to switch around all that often.
Alternatively, find the two weights that are most comfortable for you while gaming and while web-surfing and just keep the other ready at your desk to switch out with a simple push of the button motion.
The adjustable dpi tracking button (located behind the scroll wheel) is very handy, though I never use anything but the highest settings.
The mouse also features side buttons, one on the left which rests at the thumb which by default under windows is a page back button, at this point it is a must have for any mouse I own or use, any mouse with out the feature seems “broken” in feel and function. The other side button is actually to the right of the standard right click.
This is a welcome location feature as I have been using three button mice for over a decade (various *nix environments and gdm’s) it comes very naturally for me to use a mouse with 3 buttons.
I would highly highly recommend this mouse for anyone that games daily.
There is no strange texture or finish to the mouse, it tracks extremely well and looks good!
Note* This is defiantly a right handed use mouse, in the button layout and design of the mouse.
