I just purchased this game, by trading in two games I didn’t like (Jurassic the Hunted, and Star Wars Lightsaber Duels) and so far I really like it. I’ve been traveling through the jungle, using my staff and eventually my bow and arrow to kill and defeat my enemy, while accomplishing the goal for each level. I really like that there are on screen prompts reminding you which button to use (even if I did know, this is still a nice feature). It kind of reminds me of Turok:Evolution, which I really enjoyed playing on my Playstation 2. It doesn’t follow the story of the movie Avatar, and I don’t find that to be all so bad. It has its own story and bottom line is that I’m enjoying playing it. So far, so good!
Before I bought this game for my 12 year old son, I’d made clear to him that I would buy him one and ONLY one game for his Wii this Christmas. He therefore spent hours online, researching the game, checking out the graphics, watching the commercials, etc. He was SO excited to receive it Christmas morning… and SO disappointed after loading and playing it. We had no idea that only the Xbox 360 game (and NOT the Wii version) has all the features and stunning graphics shown on the TV commercials.
ONLY the Xbox 360 version allows you to pick your own figures; ONLY Xbox 360 allows you to choose whether you want to be on the Navii’s team, or the RDA team. Even the story line’s are different from one platform to the other. The Xbox 360 version has many, many different levels that simply don’t exist in the Wii game.
And the graphics… oh brother, what a scam! The Xbox 360 version, shown on all the TV commercials, looks stunning. The Wii version, on the other hand, is pixelated, low res and simply disappointing.
Buyer beware!
(PS Having said that, my son still enjoys playing the game. But his play is a bit wistful, knowing that this is NOT what he had expected.
The game is a lot of fun. You get to be one of two characters of the Navi. The best part is if you have a WII board you can use it to fly on the dragons. Great battles and puzzles to figure out.
My sister gave me this game for Christmas and I love playing it. Once you get past the first couple of levels anyone can join you as a secondary character to give you a hand. It’s also interesting that you can ‘buy’ your own upgrades that can affect the difficulty of game play lol. If you don’t make the right upgrades in time it can really make things a challenge! I love using the balance board for flying! It’s a great experience! At one point my friend used my controller and her own so that I could focus on ‘steering’. A great time and even more so if you play with a friend.
I bought this game for my kids. But apparently, it has become a family affair, when all the three of us can use this game, one on strategy, one on flying and the other on shooting. The flying on Wii board could also be an intensive exercise for overweight individuals like me. My son and my daughter love the characters, its quite challenging though to pass the levels, hey but that’s what gaming should be all about…. I give full marks to this game and wish all parents can participate in this intuitive, interactive action and fun.
I liked this game because it was a lot of fun even though I had trouble using the balance board to fly. I liked the way the game told me when there were bad people close by because it gave me time to hide and kill them before they found me. I liked how the controls worked and I liked the sound effects. I thought the game was pretty exciting. I rented it from the video store and I want to buy it now.
ADVENTURE is the point of game. Face it, who cares if you can’t be the RDA? They’re restricted to low grounds and weaponry. Na’vi can do Stealth Attacks and command creatures such as the mighty Thanator or the Banshee. (A couple of my favorite Pandoran creatures) As for the graphics, they’re still impressive despite the graininess. And besides, once you ignore the grain, the world is pretty impressive. (I have games that are grainy, but I get past it. Like TR Legend for my PC.) And hey, going around stealth attacking from branches makes me feel like a tiger. That just rules. Addmitedly, I don’t have the game. But I have seen some awesome HD footage gameplay. I have a wide variety of Adventure games like Tomb Raider. I HAVE played this only once at my friend’s house for the Wii, and it was most definitely fun. I plan oon buying it soon. As for the other saying the control of characters suck, it could be a simple problem of cleanliness of your sensor. Or your controllers are a little unresponsive. i looked for fun in this product, and by playing at my friend’s, it was very fun, and once you get past the graphics, you can really see the beauty in the world. Graphics were key for me, and this game passed the standards. Plus the story wasn’t all too bad either. Besdes, the developers didn’t want the game to be completely based on the movie.
Awesome, awesome game. I loved the customization, and of course, I loved the graphics. Great plot line. There are some very challenging areas to progress through, and I was glad that those were implemented because if they hadn’t been, the game would have been too easy.
I think the Wii version got jipped a little (like with other games — CoD) on features.
My only suggestion is that advanced game players might want to rent it first. My boyfriend completed it in 3 days, and he’s not the tpye to play VGs for hours on end.

Pros:
Nice graphics
Solid use of the Balance Board
Exclusive story
Fun
co-op available
Cons:
lots of bugs and glitches
game development was rushed
not enough exploration possible.
terrible use of the motion plus
The game could have been much better but if you liked the film and want to feel like a Nav`i then the game can be fun.
