I was searching around the web for an alternative method with my ps2 video, 1st I thought using the S-Video option however the improvement is minimum, then I tried this one, my tv: LCD, FullDH, 42inch. it works just excellent, you will notice the difference immediately. Very satisfied with its price & quality. 100% compatible. If you expect higher performance this is not your cable neither your game machine.
The cables are so good, that the games is almost equal in graphics to Xbox quality! I’m serious! If you have component inputs on your TV, you have to get these, no excuses! This can put new life into old games. I am pretty sure that this is what these games are indented to look like comparing to what you get on a tv with the old composite connection.
I have an original(fat) PS2 console and a LCD flat screen TV. My TV has Y, Pr, & Pb inputs and these component cables work just fine (if you don’t know what I’m talking about, refer to your TV’s user manual). You’re not going to get XBOX360/PS3 HDMI quality, because PS2 does not support true HD (except for Grand Turismo 4, which can be played on 1080i). 1080i is true HD. Games played through regular RCA cables on HD TVs look blurry and crappy. These cables will clean up the color quality(which results in the game looking better). If you’re having trouble with these cables, check your PS2′s system settings. There’s a reviewer here who explains how to do that.
Note: I’ve done some homework on the Y, Pr, Pb inputs vs. Y, Cr, Cb inputs issue. As far as consumer level products go, there is NO difference between Y, Pr(red), Pb(blue) inputs and Y, Cr(red), Cb(blue) inputs. Also, component cables are better than S-VIDEO.
This cable lets you pipe higher quality video from your PS2 console to any TV with component-in capability (3 separate signals for 3 primary color components). Not only does the picture quality improve quite a bit, but it lets you turn on progressive scan which is not supported by the composite video (only one signal for the picture) which the standard, out-of-the-box PS2 cable comes with. Arrived quickly and works flawlessly.
I bought these cables in order to connect my old PS2 to my new LCD TV. The original cable from the PS2 worked but the video quality was really poor. These cables allowed me to connect the PS2 to the Component input on my LCD and to set the PS2 video output to 480p. The difference in quaity of video is exceptional. I decided to try them as they are cheap and I did not expect them to make a great difference but they did! Great buy.
When I bought my new LCD TV it only had 1 S-Video slot, which went to my GameCube because Nintendo deemed it necessary to discontinue making systems with Component ports. In order to play whatever games I want without constant plugging / unplugging, I decided it was time to get a PS2 component cable.
I stumbled across this one and found it to be the cheapest option, and since it’s just a cable I purchased it.
Overall I have been satisfied with its performance and have experienced no problems with it whatsoever. If you’re in my situation where you’re buying a PS2 component cable out of necessity, look no further as this is by far the cheapest option you’ll find.
To the people experiencing problems, check your PS2 system settings to see that you switched your PS2 video options from RGB to Y/Cb/Cr.
This product is very good it works great on my plasma screen tv. The only probulm is it isn’t very long it is about 3 feet, but it works. If i were you i would buy it.
Only thing, it seems susceptible to interference from other devices that it is sitting on (or its the PS2 that receives the interference), so if you experience snow try turning the PS2 vertical. That fixed my problem.

Very inexpentsive, didn’t fit perfectly, but what can you expect for the price? Didn’t really get in the way of my enjoyment of the product.

Great cable.
