I got this for our 15 year old son and he absolutely loves it. I heard it would be hard to follow along, but it’s as easy as
the other games like guitar hero and such. I’m happy we chose this game, it’s very entertaining and he seems to enjoy
unlocking new songs and beats every day.

Overall, I’ve enjoyed DJ Hero more than the Guitar Hero series. I like that the controller to me is more ergonomic than the guitar controller, it essentially allows for the same coordination skills with the different colored buttons, euphoria mode is its version of star power, yet I find that “scratching” on the turntable more enjoyable than “strumming” (clicking). One big quip, I’ve had some connectivity problems with this controller (the controller splits into two pieces to allow the user to customize the desired handedness) which has caused some problems during play–most of the time it works, at times it still drops out.
I have not seen the “regular” addition, but the case is decent, the legs are adjustable and need to be screwed in at the bottom of the case (I was hoping for retractable legs into the case, this makes it a hassle to assemble and disassemble). But overall, the set-up is very solid, the turntable fits well on top of the case (the inside is foam lined to hold the turntable and the legs go below it). I have not listened to the bonus CDs yet.

Got it for my husband. He loves it and it’s completely awesome and I am an awesome wife for getting it. I think it’s MUCH better looking than the regular DJ Hero, but I don’t know if it’s worth a $100 price difference (I got it on a lightening deal, so it was a lot less). I don’t think it’s worth more than a $50 price difference from the regular version, personally.
*Update* I reduced it to 4 stars after playing on it for a while because the legs aren’t as sturdy as I originally thought (they didn’t break or anything, just wobbly) and the door for the Wiimote got messed up. Only grown (sober) adults have played on this thing, so it was not roughed up at all. I also think the upgrade from the regular DJ Hero to be worth more like $30-40 versus the originally $50 that I said. All in all, still a very fun game, but the quality of the parts could have been a lot better. I wouldn’t have minded paying the extra $100 if I was getting a product that was $100 better.

I actually purchased this as a gift for my neighbors, ranging in age from 5 to 17 – this has been their favorite game for the WII

This is a great game! It’s similar to Guitar hero, but you use a turntable instead of a guitar. The controller and stand seem well built and solid enough to last a good while. We’ve gotten many hours of enjoyment out of it so far.

Great game!!! Shipped almost like the next day! We were trying to decide if we wanted to just buy the regular DJ hero or the renegade edition. I am glad we paid the little extra for the Renegade edition, as it comes with a nice case that doubles as the stand. EVERYONE at my house uses this game standing… and have a blast! The game has great music!

I love this game. For one, some of the mixes are so creative. Second, the fact that it incorporates Guitar functionality so you can you can leverage your Guitar Hero expertise, uh and the guitar is great.
The ONLY knock I have is that unlike Guitar Hero you can’t create your own DJ and track his/her progress across multiple levels and sets. AND some of the mixes are weak but I mean c’mon with as many mixes as this game has what would you expect.
Final word, if you can get a good deal, get the Renegade Edition. The stand and travel case are enough to make this a worthwhile investment.

Greatest Christmas Gift Ever. At least that’s what my brother said to all of his friends after I gave this to him Christmas Eve. The music is awesome and it was definitely worth the extra cash to get the “renegade edition.” The hard case that turns into a table it great and very sturdy. I like that the height is adjustable too. The turntables aren’t hard to use and it gets easier the more you use them. The CD that came with it was decent. It would have been better if it came with a CD of the music from the game though. All in all, my brother loves it and I can’t wait to hook up my guitar from “guitar hero” so we can jam together.
