Perhaps you can't find your system, maybe you have the system, but need all the cables to hook it up, or maybe you are just sick and tired of the *$@! thing never working properly?! With this brand new, top-loading system, you can play all of your favorite Nintendo AND Super Nintendo games once again on the same console, and the best part is, they will work every time!

The system works great and plays the games that made Nintendo big. It does everything the description said it would do.

If you have any NES or SNES games, this is the unit for you. It is more convenient than having one of each unit. I realize that there are a lot newer game systems out there, but there are still a lot of people who like NES. If so, then this unit is for you.

Well, had it for about a week now and everything works fine, seems to be a solid machine. Being able to play both NES and SNES is a plus.
Sure the new systems are great, but getting back to the good ‘ol Nintendo is a fresh breath. Great games like Mario, Double dragon, and Mortal Kombat just can’t be beat. The best thing is, if you lost broken or just gave those old games away, thanks to Amazon, you can get them real cheap, used of course.
Brings back some great button smashing memories. If you have kids, good thing is they’ll enjoy it just as much, and you don’t have to worry about them destroying your more expensive game consoles.
Grab one, you’ll be glad you did.

I was very impressed with this game system. I thought that it was convenient to have a game system that was comprised of 2 separate games, super and regular nintendo. Instead of unplugging one and hooking another up to the tv, you have both in one system. It works great, and the games play great as well.

I found a post where someone was looking for a used NES, I wrote this for them. I’ve edited it down from my original message to the curious to remove my reviews of other systems and recommendations on how to spruce up an original system. Before I get to the review, this clone system is awesome, I’ve never had a problem with it. There’s only two negative – 1 the included controls have stiff directional controls, I recommend original controls or better after market ones over the included ones which are still serviceable. 2 – it grips the cartridges rather well and it’s really light, getting the games out takes both hands and attentive removal. I have bought another one since Ike, so I’m on my second, my first filled up with salt water so I can’t hold that against the unit. On with the recommendation I wrote to someone else almost a year ago:
I’m not sure of your motivation for looking for an original NES, I’m guessing for playing the games. If that’s the case I’ve done lots of research and even some testing and I have suggestions. If it’s for colectors/nostalgia value then I’m on the wrong track, I also have a tip for an original.
I’m going to recommend a specific clone over an orginal, for several reasons:
1. New without the problems of used – reliability
2. Newer components, less power usage.
3. Easier / cheaper to get.
There’s one I want to recommend.
The first one, is the one I bought (then Ike took) which is the absolute best for compatibility. It plays NES and SNES games flawlessly, and it is actually made with the same chips or updated replacement chips as the original, the Retro Duo.
This works with the Game Genie (for both systems) and other accessories a lot of the “Famiclones” don’t. It supports SVideo and stereo RCA, however the SVideo doesn’t work with the NES side so you’re better off just using the RCA jacks. The only downfall of this particular system (where the NES side is concerned) is that it only accepts SNES controlls. On NES games the X and Y buttons become turbo buttons. Not a problem in my case, but it will be an issue if you want to play Duck Hunt or World Class Track Meet/use the Power Glove etc. The compact second version of the real SNES had a couple of weird video problems on a couple of games and this one uses the second version chips. Be careful if you chose this system, there is an older model called the FC Twin which is alright and looks exactly the same, but it is not made with the original chips like the Retro Duo is but is easier to find but has the compatibility problems the other clones have.
Most clones, with the exception of the Retro Duo have a problem with a hand full of games.
There are litterally hundreds of “Famiclones” NES knock offs out there, these are the best two in my opinion. (reference to the other edited out for this review) Judges have ruled in the US they’re legal to make since Nintedo’s patent is up and they don’t make them for us anymore – Nintendo wasn’t happy with this ruling but I don’t see where it hurts them since they don’t support the systems anymore anyways. If you look at other clones, which I somewhat advise against, due to questions of quality, avoid any with built in games. The games are copywrited and the knock offs with games (that aren’t home-brew games) are actually pirated, as a consumer you’re probably safe anyways, but there have been federal busts/raids against warehouses/sellers of pirated game versions. I personally like to stay on the up and up.

I thought I’d never get to play all the old Nes and Snes games again without going into a hissy fit!! This Duo Retro Game works great so far. No problems and it looks cool too. I have the Black and Red one. The price was right at $40.00 Just remember, If you want a joystick or other controllers you need to buy the SNES Versions!!
They are coming up with a adapter to use with NES controllers, but not sure when. I would recommend this product!!

This is the best thing that has happened in the video game industry. A company that keeps the classics alive. The Retro Duo Twin Video Game System is a must have for any video game player. What is next? A console that comes with multiple controllers and has multiple cartridge/cd/dvd/bluray inputs built into it to allow any video game? Nice!

Overall good buy. It is a little sensitive to nudging which will wipe save data off some games (only when powers on but one of my old SNES had the same porblem) but i just set it up on my coffee table and thats no longer a problem. I have had it for a little over 2 months and it still works like new. Runs all of my SNES games perfectly and completely compatable with all SNES controllers including the Mario Paint mouse and Super Scope 6 gun. Have not tried the NES slot yet, but if it is anything like the rest of the system, i will be pleased. Hella fast delivery too! a day early in fact!

this little gem lets you play nes and s-nes games on one little machine. and when i mean little its little. doesnt take up much space as to have a nes and a s-nes next to each other. also there no worries on have to swaping wires around.
i like the fact that it comes with a s-video cable along with the rca audio/video cables. s-video make the games look alot more clearer and sharper. the audio on the other hand can get just a tad bit scrachy but not enough to to annoy you. i use em on a surround sound system & it sounds just find to me. (might not even notice it if you hook em strate up to a tv or flatscreen tv)
the controllers are in s-nes format with works just fine on the nes mode. and just incase you didnt read the spec’s above it also plays japanese game’s both nes & s-nes. this system is properly ventilated so there no over heatting issues what so ever.
if you got alot of old nes games laying around as well as s-nes games this is the system for you if you want to go down memory lane. if you dont then you can just simply go to a thrift shop or a pawn shop & most likely you can get em for like doller a game for nes games or mabe 2-3 dollers a s-nes game. theres also alot of places on the net that you can buy these games from at dirt cheap prices.
keep in mind that if you do decide to buy used or use your own games to play on this system that you will be carrying over the film (electronic dirt) thats still on thos game cartridges. luckly i ran into a tool thats also sold here on amazon called: Nes Snes N64 Security 3.8 mm Cartridge Opening Tool Bit. with this bit you are able to open thos old game cartridges & clean off the film that you might not wantting to go on you newly bought system.
to me this is a grate buy if you want to take a trip back in videgamming old times.
