I love this game. The 1/4 & 1/2 mile drags are my favorite. The drifting could’ve been a little better but overall I’ll give it a 9/10. Ridiculous graphics and the damage is actually shown. So it makes you want to drive more clean in order to not have to pay for your repairs….
-This game is based off professional racing and not URL. You start out in the game with a 240 (Nissan 240SX). From there you win money by winning and then you can spend it on upgrades or buy a new car.
-They added damage so now you can’t go 200 mph slam into a wall and just take off you will most likely total your car. Let me say if you hit a bump in Nevada and flip its pretty sweet to watch as you car falls apart after rolling 5 times.
-The drag racing is just like normal drag racing you have your 1/4 and your 1/4 but they a Wheelie Stand race where you try and keep you cars front end in the air for the longest time.
-You can spend hours trickin out your car with decals and vinyl and then show it off in races. Plus you can now move decals and vinyls all over the car to give it the racing look you want. No more having to put up with a limited amount of space, now the whole car is yours.
Cons:
-The guy in the background on the mic can be annoying but I just tone him out.
-I do miss the free roam but you have to remember this is based on professional racing not amateur racing and it’s supposed to turn people to go pro and to get off the streets and make real money with their skills.
This game is so under-rated. I think that’s because it’s very different from previous nfs games. And because it’s so different, it takes a while to get used to. The game is way more realistic. The graphics, gameplay scenery, cars, speed, and pretty much everything is more realistic. It doesn’t have an over-the-top story, but in a racing game that doesn’t really matter. The racing is top notch. It’s difficult, but only if you want it to be. The driving assists make it fun for anyone who wants to play. Casual will make it so you can press one trigger and it will control throttle and brake, Racer will provide a braking assist in difficult turns, and King gives you full control. The game offers things that no other racing games do. The drag racing and wheelie competitions are fantastic. You go through staging to heat your tires before each race, you have to start and shift in the right rpm, but shift too early and you can get a false start, it is definitely the best drag gameplay I’ve ever seen. The drift racing takes a while to get the hang of. You have to either use the handbrake or clutch-kick to start the drift and counter-steer to keep drifting. The speed races are insane. It takes nerves of steel and a good reaction time to handle the 250 mph+ on a two-lane bumpy road. The grip racing is great, lots of different and challenging tracks to keep you on your toes. The game is long compared to the other nfs games. Lots of bonus racedays and competitions will make sure you get your money’s worth. The multplayer is similar to carbon. You can jump in and leave a raceday that people make themselves. You can also share racedays and car blueprints. There is a big community for prostreet, which is another reason why I’d strongly recomend this game. And to the people who rent the game, actually get near the end and/or good part of a game before making a review!
NFSProStreet has got to be one of the best installments in the series. Nothing tops NFSUnderground, that’s number one. This one is definitly second in line, though. This game tops the new NFSUnderCover, it aint that good. Need for Speed: ProStreet is a Greatest Hits game and a must-have!!
This game is great, it is worth your money. If you have this game for WII, you will love it. The version of the game is more advanced. They added more cars like, 2008 Camaro Concept, 67 Vett, Acuras, BMW Z4, 2003 Mustang GT, Ponitac Solicte, 2005 Honda Civic, Audi TT ( unlockable ). This game is fun. My hint to all of you for all gaming devices, go to code entry and enter unlockallthings ( no spaces) then go back to main menu. This unlocks all cars, and tracks. Then go to you garage, you should see 4 cars you did not buy,(Drift) Ponitac GTO, (speed) Dodge Viper SRT10,( Drag) Chevy Cobalt,( Grip) Nissain 240s.If you sell them all you can get $90,000, but you con only do it once everytime you log into the game.
this game is good, but only one thing is that you have alot of big car and the track are not good for the cars. they have very curve. you can not go to the max speed !!!!!!!!
I really enjoy this game. I wouldn’t get rid of it for anything. I think Need for Speed Pro Street is a more grown up title. The other NFP games had a specific flare that made them exciting and so does this one. I prefer track style racing over street any day. Some don’t… The graphics in this game are great, the physics is on point, and don’t even mention to paint jobs on all of the vehicles. I would say this game is best on the Wii because of the ability to drive the cars with the Wiimotes motion sensing. This is a great game!
…which may speak of having too much free time. But whatever. I got this game from a friend who hated it, and traded it immediately. He has know idea what he did. If you are a car guy/girl, you will immediately fall in love with the options this game gives you. Tweaking your SRT-10 Viper to make 1000+ hp is just a car guy’s dream, and since it ain’t gonna happen in reality, its a blast in virtual land.
Also, the game mechanics and controller input is realistic but the learning curve is not insanely challenging. Seriously, my main gripe with driving games is the cars all handle like crap and I never feel like the games are newbie friendly. NFS:PS is, and makes the transition easy. Your skills build quickly, you feel like you are making progress, and you get cooler and cooler stuff as you go along.
Did I need to buy that Mustang GT-500 that looks like Elenor from Gone in 60 Seconds? No. Did I buy it just to say I own it? Yes. Its that kind of game, one that has a high replay value just to buy that next vehicle, to drop your 1/4 mile drag time under 7 seconds, and to get that level 4 upgrade on nitrous.
I love this game, and I’ve got the blood-shot eyes from too many late nights to prove it.
Lastly, I have to comment on the soundtrack to this game. Many games pull together their music tracks apparently from the Alt-Rock Dartboard, and continuity is completely gone. Not all tracks have to be the same style, but there has to be an overall theme meshed with the game itself. These guys did their research, and talk about some obscure groups, versions, and remixes, wow. This is one of the best soundtracks I’ve heard since SSX-3 for the PS2.

I bought this PS2 game for my son. He also has “Need for Speed 1 & 2″. He likes this version as well as the other two. He says it is lots of fun.
