WII Wii Fit Rechargeable Battery Pack for Balance BoardCTA Digital Battery Pack for Wii Balance Board$12.99http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41blUADHAFL._SL160_.jpg
Unless you have your balance board in a room down the hall or your Wii mounted to the top of a flag pool, this item is fine.
After reading some balance board reviews and complaints of poor battery life, I bought this and have been using it for four months now without a problem.
This plugs into one of the Wii USB ports instead of an outlet. That’s good if you do not have extra outlets. Of course it will not charge when the Wii is powered off, just like any USB charging device. The USB cable is standard length. If for some reason your Wii is mounted to the top of your house like some of the fools here, you can simply buy a USB extender or plug it into any computer or any other device that will provide wall outlet to USB power (most of the cheap universal charges support USB).
The best thing about this pack is that it can remain plugged in to the board while you are using it and will continue to charge the battery.
I plugged it in the back of my Wii for 22 hours for charging, snapped it into the balance board battery compartment and I was off and running. No problems with power, power cord or having to “jury rig” the batteries to make contact as someone stated they had to do. The board also kept sync so there was no need to resync.
If you plan on using your Wii Fit Balance Board often, then you definately need the rechargable battery pack. It recharges off of the Wii unit, so no need to plug it into a wall outlet.
This is a great item, beats having to go out to buy AA batteries. This product is easy to use. Great way to save money. I would definitly recommend this to any one who has the Wii Fit.
Why have to worry about the battery power on the Wii Fit when you can just plug it in and forget about it while it’s not in use. The Wii Fit uses a lot of energy if you are on it for long periods of time. This is a great option. You can plug it in overnight and then when you are ready to use it you can unplug it and move the balance board wherever you like or you can leave it plugged in, the cord is pretty long. Either way it beats replacing the batteries so frequently.
Like the Wii remotes, the Wii FIT balance board is a battery drinker. I would strongly recommend this rechargable battery pack. The pack connects to the Wii system when not in use, standard charge lasts over 20 hours of play, longer (following future charges). The pack itself fits neatly into the bottom of the balance board, lid and all. The only product negative may be that some other brands may cost slightly less
Being a Wii Fit owner and user and going through batteries rapidly in the first couple days I saw this product and said I must have it. It isn’t expensive when you think of the $100s that would be spent on batteries. The batteries made for digital and games are even more costly than so called regular batteries.
This product is great, a requirement for hours of Wii fit use and simple USB connection for charging. Yes, the chord should be longer, however, just grab via Amazon the USB cable extension (9.8 feet) and you should have no issue with connection due to distance from Wii unit to computer or other USB powered device.
For me all of my Wii, HDTV, sound system, desktop, and laptop are all in close proxsimity living in a NYC apartment.
Simple fixes for the the short chord are as follows:
1) if you have a laptop and being they are quite mobile, keep it nearby and thus you can connect the charger to the laptop.
2) Or plug it directly into the Wii console as for me the console is close enough with the chord to do so.
3) for $4-$6 look for the “Cables To Go” brand of the USB 10Ft extension. Link here – Cables To Go – 26686 – 3M (9.8ft) USB A Male to A Female Extension Cable (White)
I have a few and the are great when you need to have equipment either further apart or guests are there and the extra length is needed etc.
In any case I suggest and recommend this product for all Wii fit owners, well worth the $20 price tag for the 100′s saved over time with environment killing batteries.

It is a good thing to have.
Plug it in when wii is not in use, to get a full charge.
Unplug to play with a 100% full battery power.
IF the adaptor cord were longer…. you could leave in while you play… but the cord is to short to be able to do that.

I don’t know why I bought it. I’ve never had to use it. Still using the original batteries that I put in when I bought it, over a yr ago.
