If you really love the game show and loved to shout out the answers and play along, then you’ll love the adaptation of Price is Right into the game.
It doesn’t follow the way the game show is played exact, only to a point. You won’t stay in contestants row until you bid correctly, and you won’t have to watch the computer play, only when they are spinning the wheel. This review is for single player game play. I wanted to give folks an insight to HOW the game is played.
It’s three strikes you’re out, and the game ends once you get 3 strikes. You first go to contestants row to bid. Your item shows as a classic video clip in a small box on screen.
Win or lose, you get to advance to a pricing game. If you lose in contestant row, that’s one strike. The pricing games are very fun to play. If you lose one of those, you get a strike, and also a strike if you aren’t the closest to $1 on the wheel. So far I’ve gotten to play Plinko, Punch a Bunch, and Cliffhanger to name a few. Item descriptions for the pricing games show as classic video clips as well. Loading time wasn’t bad, at all. The game goes very smoothly.
It’s back to contestants row, after the first pricing game. Then to spinning the wheel, then to another pricing game, then to the showcase wheel. I’m assuming after that you get to the Showcase Showdown. I haven’t gotten to that far yet. Some of the games can be tough, like 3 Strikes. And those that are more luck then skill, like spinning the wheel. Guessing the prices of items has been the toughest challenge so far. They are quite accurate! Items you can “win” are up to date, such as an 09 Toyota Corolla.
You can also choose to play classic mode. You stay in contestants row, and get 6 chances to advance to a pricing game. You play a pricing game, then off to spin the wheel, then on to the showcase showdown.
True fans will appreciate the likeness of the games, the sounds, and the music. Rich Fields announces everything in the show. You only get a handful of contestants to pick from. And you can only use one Wiimote among up to 4 players and that’s kinda annoying.
Once you have completed all the pricing games, you can play those individually as mini-games. You can also unlock some additional video clips.
The graphics are great!! I was pleasantly surprised. This is one of the best looking games I have played. But for this type of game, it was all about game play. And it certainly met, and exceeded my expectations.
Tons of fun if you are playing alone, and it would be a lot of fun with friends. I give it a 9 out of 10! Minus a point due to having to share a Wii Mote and for not incorporating Bob Barker. It’s a must have!

This game is fun and very realistic. You play the game with actual known products not made up stuff. You can spin the wheel for your contestant and bid on the showcase. The games are fun and there are even barkers beauties. You can plat plinko, the golf game and the mountain climber game as well as many others. You will enjoy this game if you are a fan of this game show.

I am so glad that I bought this game! It is a great game for a group to play, and anyone can play. It really is like being on Price is Right – from the showcases, the games of chance, to spinning the wheel to be in the final showcase. Even if you are not a winner in the beginning, everyone gets a chance to spin the wheel and be in the final showcase. It keeps everyone involved right to the end. My teenage son and his friends even played a game with us last night – and they were laughing and having fun. Sometimes, I don’t think the value on some of the items are quite right – but who cares – it is still fun!!!!

My daughter got this for Christmas, and since then she is not the only one playing it. The kids and the adults have all been playing it as it is an easy game to play, and is different than most other DS games. The game is similar to the show in that you estimate the prices of products to advance in the game. As you advance you eventually make it to the Showcase Showdown, but what I liked was that even if you lose you are still able to play another game, almost like a consolation game. Might be easier for adults and older children becuase my kids don’t really know the value of the products that they were trying to estimate the cost of, but they still had fun trying anyway.

If you’re looking for a game that will get your party going, or something just to have fun with, then The Price is Right for the Wii may be just what you’re looking for. Being the game show enthusiast that I am, I was delighted to hear that this timeless classic was finally making its video game debut; and it does not disappoint!
While it is not aimed at hard-core gamers, it certainly does its job with providing endless hours of fun. I feel it did a very good job recreating the feel of the actual game show. While I was a bit disappointed with the absence of both Bob Barker and Drew Carey, Rich Fields is a great, and sometimes even exciting, host. Up to four players can participate at a time, or you can just wing it solo. Either way, you’re guaranteed to have a good time.
Controls are very user friendly, making it easy for anyone of any age to play, even if they’ve never picked up a video game in their life. The graphics are great, and I couldn’t keep myself from laughing at some of the ways the on-screen players react; very cute.
So, if you’re looking for some fun for everyone, The Price is Right for the Wii is the way to go. Trust me; you will not be disappointed!
