I purchased this repair kit. The first time around i still got the RROD. However they did say in the manual that 5-10% xboxes do that, they can be stubborn, but they have an additional method, if after removing the clamps etc, you still get the RROD. I followed their instructions of overheating the GPU while keeping the CPU cool with the fan…and walla…NO MORE RROD. is working fine. I saved a lot of money cause i was thinking about getting a new XBOX, but this worked great. You can use the manuals, but its also good to go on youtube, to watch some guys actually take it apart and do the repairs..just to be safe. I had to open mine again, just to fix a stuck DVD drive, which is the dirty rubber band thing, but its back up and running….thanks XBOX REPAIR!!!!

My xbox 360 was completely shot with the red ring of death… I order this kit and followed the instructions and repaired the xbox in about 2 hours. It’s worked perfectly ever since and it’s been over 3 months at least. Highly recommended !

This product is the best fix in the world if you have the 3 red rings of death. It comes with directions that are step by step and does not take very long to complete. I highly recommend this product.

For any of you out there with the RROD that is caused by a hardware failure, this is the only real fix. When my Xbox 360 got the Red Ring of Death, I looked at every solution. I saw videos telling me to just beat the living hell outta it, to wrap it up in a blanket and let it over heat, and then I saw the X-Clamp fix. Now this fix does require you to open your Xbox and have a basic knowledge of electronics and how to handle them, but it really works! I used this kit and it fixed my Xbox 360 and I haven’t had any problems what so ever since. Definitely worth a try if your Xbox has the RROD and is out of warranty or you just don’t trust Microsoft, like me.

Great kit came with two torx screw drivers,the washers and screws and the opening tool witch made the whole repair much easier,yeah the instructions get a little hard without a video but you can just you tube it.

I ordered the product on sat got it the following sat and started at nine o’clock on my rrod 360 and at 11:30 had a working 360. Yes it took two and a half hours for me but I don’t know crap about electronics. the hardest part was taking the x clamps off and putting the heat sinks back on but with the tutorial on the website they included it went pretty smooth i definetly recommend this to any body who has rrod and no warranty.

I consider myself to be completely inapt when it comes to fixing things. I had tried to fix my 3RL’d XBox 360 before with the eraser techinique that my cousin had tried successfuly before and that worked for about 3 days for me… And in the process of opening my XBox I’ve damaged some of the exterior plastic locks and broke one of the small screws that hold the heat syncs. As I said before, completely inept.
I got this kit as a last resort and after a few hours “operating” my XBox (it took me longer than with most people, I’m sure), including silly mistakes such as placing one of the heat syncs in the wrong position and having to come back to do it again (though the instructions did alert for that, and luckily the kit had enough paste and cleaning solutions for me to correct my mistake), I finally had it working again. It’s been only a couple of weeks now, but I feel good about this fix just by remembering how bad the paste I have replaced looked.
The tools that came in the kit we really helpful as well. The XBox opening tool was very helpful and the Torx tools are a must.
Now my cousin’s XBox also went down again and I am going to help him fix it with a second repair kit that I’m buying.

In under two hours, I turned a broken useless Xbox360 into a fully functional console thanks to this product. The tools given are very useful and the parts assemble together very easily. Plus the instructions that came with this set are very, very accurate and useful. I followed them (with easy to see pictures) and replaced that stupid clamp. The only qualm I have is the opening tool, which is a bit flimsy for opening certain tabs, but Microsoft can take some of the blame there. With someone helping you hold and open the Xbox, it is a simple procedure. The product helped fix the red ring of death. It works. Don’t question this products effectiveness.

I tried to get my RRoD Xbox repaired by a guy who charges $50 if he can fix it. He told me “your Xbox is dead, the E20 error is a tough one to fix.” So i got this kit and on the first try (2 hours of work) I got the green lights. I’ve been playing this Xbox for 1 month now pretty solidly. If my Xbox dies again, i’ll just do this fix again and hope for the best. I wanna tell that guy he should look into this kit…
