I first played this game at my friend’s house. We took turns on the Wii Balance Board and thought it was really good. We started doing some poses in the training mode and it was fun. But the thing I loved the most was the Story Mode. In Story Mode you can walk through this room and your guide will tell you about different artifacts. You have the option of navigating yourself freely through the room and onto different floors. I learned a lot about yoga and I even how to eat better. Throughout the game you also meet different gurus and trainers who all talk to you and give you tips about yoga as a lifestyle.
It really makes you think about your lifestyle and eating habits. My mom was trying to quit smoking so I got this game for her because I thought it would help with her stress management and it has. We take turns playing and it’s a lot of fun.
Using the Wii Balance Board is a lot of fun with this game. It’s amazing how precise is it. This game really opened my eyes to yoga and how it can have positive effects on your health. The game walks you through all sorts of different poses from easy to difficult. It even shows you how to breath using a diagram of lungs I the top right of the screen to show you how slowly you should be breathing. I never thought my own yoga coach would cost me such little money lol. This was a good buy.
It’s also interesting to get nutritional facts from this game in Story Mode. For example your guide will say, “It is important to have balanced levels of Vitamin D in your diet. Vitamin D helps strengthen our bones, teeth and muscles.” Then give you examples of food that will give you Vitamin D. Pretty neat!
I must admit I was skeptical about this game at first. I thought there wouldn’t be much to it but was I ever wrong.
I really thought it was just going to be a boring game featuring some odd posing. But as soon as you start the game you have three options, either you choose Story Mode, Training Mode or Routine Mode.
Story Mode walks you through a museum like building with a guide (almost like a tour guide). Your guide discusses several types of yoga, the health benefits of yoga and even foods you should and should not eat. It’s pretty cool and I learned a lot.
Training Mode gives you the freedom to choose from all 30 of the different poses so you can practice and get better. Routine Mode specializes in specific routines that fit your individual needs. There is a routine for someone with the common cold, arthritis sufferers, back pain and so on. There is even a routine specific for times when you have a headache. How cool is that! If you had a long day at work or school and you have a headache, just pop on the Wii.
I highly recommend this game for anyone interested in yoga or fitness.
this games is not only instructral for the beginner but a refresher course the the advance studet. there are three ways to do the yoga positions: story, training and routine. my favorite is the story because it now only shows the poses but also information about the benefits of yoga.
this game gives you the option of using the balance board or not to use it. the game control is very sensitive on this selection during the story line that it does not show up at all.
I was surprised at this game for a few reasons. I wasn’t expecting to learn so much about the interesting facts and actual history in this game. Not only did I learn about the history, but they also teach you about specific foods to eat, if they are good or bad, why they are good or bad and the nutritional value. I now know the importance of specific vitamins, fruits and so on. The game is quite thorough and useful for even the most basic yoga practitioners (that would be me).
I’ve taken part in yoga at school and really enjoyed it. I looked into taking classes at a yoga studio and it was quite expensive. Yoga classes are more expensive than my entire gym membership, if not for that I would be a yoga pro by now!
So I found this game and gave it a shot and it was great. It’s like having your own personal yoga instructor anytime you want. It was so easy and relaxing. The music was soothing, the voice of the yoga guide was calming and I went at my own pace. Having the Wii Balance Board made it even more fun because I actually had to be precise in my movement. Love this game!
Using the Wii Balance Board made this game so realistic. Even in a class setting, the instructor doesn’t give you as much attention or information based on the balance board results. It shows your exact balance and using colours on the screen – a picture of the balance board on the screen shows if you have too much weight on one side. At the top right of the screen there is even a picture of lungs than inflate and deflate, indication how you should be breathing.
You don’t need a balance board to use this game but it sure does take it to a higher level. I recommend this game; it’s worth the money for sure.
I’ve seen a lot of Wii fitness games and none of them really appealed to me. When I play video games I wanna see explosions and destruction lol. But I gotta say that this game is really cool. I like to work out and I’ve always been into sports, so the benefits of yoga (improved flexibility, breathing, strength) was appealing to me.
When I’m stressed out and I can’t hit the gym, I put this game on and it really works. It can be very chill and an awesome way
I’ve heard so much about yoga and I’ve always been interested in trying it. I just ever felt comfortable doing those kind of poses in a big class environment.
I picked up this game because I wanted to experience yoga techniques in the privacy of my own home, rather than a class where everyone can see my love handles lol. I like this game a lot and it has even inspired me to live a healthier lifestyle. It’s a great addition to the Wii.
Coming from an athletic guy, I didn’t think this game would be a challenge at all when I tried it. My g/f wanted to play so we did. We used the Wii Balance Board and it was actually pretty tough at first to stay balanced. It’s cool that you learn so much and you have a lot of cool poses – like Upward Facing Dog.
I had problems with my back in the past but we found a routine specific for guys like me. It was easy on my back and I felt great. I use it about three times a week now and I have definitely felt an improvement in my flexibility and my overall athletic ability. Wicked game!
