My 5-yr-old got this game for Christmas, and it’s been a favorite every since then. You can play an exhibition game (1 or 2 player), a World Series game, practice via specific training events, or compete in Skills Challenge events. The difficulty level is perfect for his age, as he was able to learn the game quickly and yet still have room to grow and new skills to master.
Pros:
- Easy to learn
- Adjustable difficulty levels
- Fun for different ages
- Big improvement over the Wii Sports baseball
Cons:
- Difficult to pitch a ball (I’ve never seen a walk)
- Throwing to bases can be counterintuitive, as the field of view swings around after a base hit. I often end up throwing to third instead of first (maybe I’m just too old).

Little League World Series Baseball ’08
This is a all star selection! As a Mom i love this game because it is not filled with “that video noise” that makes you crazy after a few minutes and it is a game that more than one person can play at different ages and have fun. It is a great game for Father and Son to share and still have a fun time. They seem to love it and would play it every day without it becoming boring.

We bought the game for our 12 year old daughter for her birthday, but our 8 year old son and my husband play it too. All three of them enjoy the game. It’s challenging but not too hard.

This game is ideal for the miniature baseball fanatic in the family. I don’t think you can control the action as much as you can in other Wii baseball games. But for kids under 12, it is great fun. They can spend more time playing than reading the manual and trying to figure out how to do things. I enjoy the fact that it features kids as the stars. It allows my son to dream about the day he gets to the Little League World Series, and he is featured in the game.

I am not a hard core gamer. I just love baseball and enjoy “playing” on occasion. I rented a few baseball games before buying this one. It’s childish, but it didn’t require hours and hours of learning to have fun with. The other more complex games just weren’t fun because there were so many elements to learn. This game is simple, quick to learn, and not frustrating. I also don’t like games with a bunch of power moves that make it unrealistic. This game has very little of that. It seems that only one player on a team can really use the special moves, and only when the meter is full, which seems to be only a couple times per game. The game play is more complex and realistic than Wii Sports, but not so much that it is difficult to play. That’s all I wanted in a game. I am not a kid, but I would assume this game is good for kids because of its simplicity.

I bought this as a goldbox buy (always a plus) for my son’s 10th birthday. He is thoroughly enjoying it. My other kids, one 12 and one 7 are also entertained. The graphics and animation are excellent. My son did figure out some of the tricks rather quickly, but he is a gamer and this usually comes easy to him. I would recommend this to other buyers, especially those with children who enjoy baseball. Even the adults have enjoyed playing. Only drawback is the competition that it creates in my living room (which is not new).

It’s a great game that the whole family (ages 6-68)enjoys. The game is very realistic, the training lessons are very helpful, and the skill contests are fun.

Okay, so this was the hit at Christmas. We got several wii games and this one seems to get the most play. It’s really fun if you have the wii sportspack bat. The teams are listed by geography. Even though the names of the players are a bit stereotypical, young kids won’t notice that. It’s easy to handle (think all-play) with simple controls for throwing and pitching. Players in my house range from 5 to 45. Everyone enjoys it.

My 4 year old son has had this game for about 3 weeks now, and absolutely loves it. The controls are very intuitive and he was hitting home runs in no time (I actually had to turn the difficulty up for him!) Also, in my opinion, Activision did not “dumb down” this game for kids—there’s lots of nice little touches for adults (in-jokes, beautiful background scenery, etc.). The pitching and fielding is almost certainly too simplistic for a “seasoned” gamer, but again, for kids between the ages of 4 and, I’d say, 13, this game is perfect. Lots of mini-games on here (which are quite fun) and if it’s too easy you can certainly turn the difficulty up. Very satisfied with this one.
